i just got the seedings and drawtimes for
the uofm playdowns. click here to download a copy complete with
my predictions. i am not sure when the 5th (and possibly 6th) draws will be held, that
information was omitted in the email i received. i suspect that we have have to break into
the granite after it's closed for the night in order to play the finals.
in club news teamtomko lost to the only team at the pembina who is worthy enough to defeat
us, satan and his sisters. in a frantic extra end the dark lord himself ran up to sweep
his last rock with all the fury of hades for his single point and the win. |

the coordinator of the uofm
curling federation contacted all of the skips in the upcoming battle royal to inform them
that a one day double-knockout draw has been created with the first game starting at noon
on sunday. the people that forged this draw should be working on the cure for cancer
since a one day double-knockout championship with 8 teams requires at least 5 draws and 12
hours of curling. but somehow they managed to fit it all into one day!
absolutely remarkable!!
either their concept of 'double-knockout' or their concept of 'curling' or their concept
of 'time' has been distorted due to the excess of steroids in the air in the sports
complex in which they work. this draw is not possible, unless they expect us to play
the final at 2am monday morning after playing back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back games.
on a side note, my second for this event, scott mccamis, pointed out to me the rather
amusing fact "that an intact team can win a canadian championship and find themselves
seeded third out of eight at their own university" |

check out the petersfield pics yet? |

the toaster circuit has begun
and teamtomko has started it off with an undefeated record in the petersfield mixed this
weekend. the second game was against a future junior provincial champion which we
almost defaulted because our frontend got a flat tire on the way to the club, the third
pitted us against another young team with a distractingly pleasant skip, in the fourth we
faced some well mannered seniors, and the last game was against quinn adams. kassie
didn't play in the final because she got sick of the team, but we persevered and won...
although we nearly lost, but some good fortune and some terrible deliveries
saved us in the end.
next weekend teamtomko plays in the uofm championship, it was good that hamblin won the
nationals because now he probably won't make time for this spiel. |

the mca was good to us for the
first 7 games, but then she turned ugly.. real ugly and then knocked us out of the
bonspiel with peel weight. our first loss was to old man ross, which is a game i'd
sooner forget. the second loss came at the hands (and necks) of the bohn brothers.
the first team that we had a win against this season was the one which gave us our
last loss.
due to technical issues with my digicam, the mca pics will not but up until tomorrow night
now that the mens season is over, i have 3 venues left. mixed curling, university
curling, and the toaster circuit. this weekend i am playing with my mixed team in a
'pick-a-prize' spiel in petersfield. we absolutely squashed our competition in
tonight's game, and now we are set to play some 11 year olds who are half our size on
saturday morning. the pictures from that game will be up shortly. |

we are back! the teamtomko website was
down the last week due to a bug in the university's network. i volunteered to be
shrunk down to the size of a electron and enter the network to destroy the evil bug.
the battle was a long and bloody one, but the picture to my left shows me giving
the final blow to the creature, putting it out of it's misery and solving the network
problem.

teamtomko plays
tonight at the victoria curling club at 9pm in our first mca game. i have spent the
last few nights sleeping in a vat of lukewarm chinese radish soup to help strengthen my
chi for the upcoming 16-0 war we face. we are winning a berth, there is no doubt in
my mind. |

it has been said that time
marches forward.. but i believe that time foxtrots forward. as time pushes teamtomko
closer to the mca bonspiel, we clean our shoes so that when we dance all over our
competition, we won't leave any scuff marks.
the weekend was spent practicing and chanting german luck songs to help prepare us for the
uphill battle of winning 15 straight games which awaits us. our first deathmatch is
this thursday. |

the game of curling is a
simple one indeed. just deliver a rock at the broom with the right weight.
teamtomko could not do this against rusty restall and so our zones experience ends on a
ugly note.
our hopes of getting into the safeway select are still alive via the mca, which starts
next week.
in other curling news, one of my old flames won the junior womens provincial curling
championships this weekend. no doubt due to the brief time she spent in close
proximity to me. the mixed curling season is almost upon us and i have already
confirmed the legendary kasandra peters to throw stones for me... what have i gotten
myself into. |

teamtomko busted a cap in
teamnorman and sent them to the change room in critical condition. servers him right
for having the same first name as me. that win brings teamtomko only 3 games away
from winning a spot in the safeway select. we are playing as good as michal jackson
moonwalks.. except we aren't taking 'naps' with young children to help us 'relax'.
our next game is against the hickmaster at 10am tomorrow back at the fort garry on the
same sheet we played our first glorious game |

| our power grows with each
game, and with each win we become one step closer playing in the ford worlds.
teamtomko bested our opponent, reducing them to tears in 9 ends. at this point i
think we are playing at 75% of our potential. old man kirkness fell to the youth and
good looks of ryan norman and so we face off in a battle of the ryan's tomorrow at 6pm at
the rossmere (click here for
draw). we will have to pump up our game to 90% to bury my evil twin. |

| a new year has come and with
it teamtomko becomes a new team. we have drop-kicked brent off the team and
introduced tyler specula to the dark ways of teamtomko. using this powerful new
combination we curb-stomped our opponents in our first game of the city zones. with
high hopes we play tonight at 9pm at the granite |
